Developed a pipeline for classifying and parsing annotations in clinical breast ultrasound (BUS) imaging data

  • Leveraged data science tools such as Python and Pandas to work with a dataset of over 100,000 images from The Hawaii & Pacific Islands Mammography Registry (HIPIMR)
  • Worked under the supervision of a PhD student for the University of Hawaii Cancer Center and learned about BUS imaging standards
  • Released as open-source software to be used as a research tool
  • Presented at the 2023 Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Symposium
